Staff Accountant

Location: Bristol, VA

Our family of Harley-Davidson dealerships represents a multi-point dealership family situated in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We are a well-established award-winning family of dealerships who takes pride in offering superior customer service and hiring experienced, knowledgeable team members. Our family of Harley-Davidson dealerships is now accepting applications for a full-time self-motivated Staff Accountant who possesses a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices and pay within terms
Balance inventory
Enter standard journal entries at month end
Prepare daily accounting reports
Maintain various Excel spreadsheets
Prepare monthly financials
Reconcile various accounts at month-end
Prepare monthly sales tax returns
Prepare Daily Bank Deposits
Organize and dispatch Post Office Errands
All other duties as assigned based on the needs of the business

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting Degree or a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the accounting field preferred
Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting principles
Personal effectiveness/credibility and solid ethical conduct
Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal, and written form
Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
Problem solving and investigative skills with the ability to handle pressure and think clearly in all situations
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with proven ability to navigate through multiple screens effectively
Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office Suite and Google Workspace
Knowledge and experience working with accounting software
Ability to understand and apply safe handling procedures of all materials used in the general office area
Must have initiative and the ability to work in a team-environment
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
Must have clean background check
Must have a clean MVR
