Full Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and people centric Operations Assistant Manager to lead and oversee all Transportation Operations. Managing Operators within the fleet (approximately 60), ensuring consistent delivery of safe, reliable, and customer‑focused service. This role manages operator performance, attendance, training, coaching, and compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.

The Operations Assistant Manager provides support and direction to the Operations Center Supervisors, Reservations, Dispatch, Schedulers, Safety, HR, and Maintenance to ensure the team is properly supported and that service targets, including on time performance, safety, and customer satisfaction—are achieved.

This Leadership role is key in managing a workforce responsible for approximately 600 daily trips.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Attendance, Leave & Scheduling Coordination

· Employee Relations & Communication

· Coordination With Operations Teams

· Other duties as required

Qualifications

Required

2–4 years of experience supervising drivers in transportation, logistics, or transit operations.
Strong understanding of CDL requirements, DOT regulations, and driver safety standards.
Transportation Management System experience.
Effective leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
Ability to analyze performance data and implement improvements.
Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.

Preferred

Experience in public transit, paratransit, shuttle, or other fleet environments.
Knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS), fatigue management, and ADA accessibility requirements.
Training certifications (PASS, CTAA, defensive driving, etc.).
