Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the Computer Scientist, PG-1550-13, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in other pay systems that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
1) Designing, developing, and implementing complex user interface applications and client-side architectures using modern web technologies, reusable UI(User Interface) component libraries, and component-based development frameworks,
2) Designing and integrating user assistance features using agentic AI capabilities within the .NET technology stack, including integration of web-based clients with AI models through REST APIs and seamless integration with heuristic-based approaches such as XML Schema and Schematron validation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of XML markup and text correction, and
3) Providing technical leadership and guidance on user interface architecture, framework selection, application integration, performance optimization, modernization strategies, and resolution of complex client-side technical issues.

To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a Moderate Risk Public Trust background investigation.
