Catering Chef – Full Time
Putting on the Ritz Catering | Laurel, MD

Putting on the Ritz Catering is looking for a reliable and motivated Catering Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for a cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and executing high-quality food for weddings, corporate events, and private functions.

You will work alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare food, support event production, and help deliver exceptional catering experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for production including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and preparing sauces.

Follow recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.

Complete prep lists for upcoming events and assist teammates to keep kitchen production on schedule.

Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen workspace.

Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth event preparation and execution.

Travel to off-site event locations when needed.

Prepare, cook, and restock food during events while supporting service operations.

Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with additional kitchen and event preparation tasks.

Qualifications

2+ years of professional kitchen experience (catering, banquet, or restaurant preferred)

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment

Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality food presentation

Team-oriented with strong communication skills
