POSITION SUMMARY: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides comprehensive speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing services to preschool-aged children (ages 3-5) with developmental delays or disabilities. Services may include classroom-based support and consultation to ensure coordinated care and successful transitions, including from Part C (early intervention) to Part B (preschool special education) under IDEA. The SLP collaborates with families, educators, interdisciplinary teams, and external agencies. Travel may be required to effectively support the assigned caseload.
Days: This position is either 195 days or 203 days.

- Conduct developmental screenings, assessments, and evaluations to determine speech, language, and communication needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide direct early intervention services in both individual and group settings.
- Coach and train teachers to support language development and communication strategies in daily routines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Facilitate the transition process from Part B to kindergarten, including collaboration with service coordinators, participation in transition planning meetings, and support for families navigating eligibility and service changes.
- Consult with families, classroom staff, and related service providers to integrate goals into classroom environments.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines.
- Complete all necessary data entries in required State programs and systems.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, developmental specialists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to services.
- Provide education and resources to families and staff regarding typical communication development, developmental delays, and strategies for support.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Attend staff and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Speech Therapy or Speech Language Pathology.
- Current state license (or eligibility for licensure) as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Will also consider applicants in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and CFY supervision is available.
- Three years of experience in a pre-school or a related field is preferred.
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Must successfully complete abuse/neglect Central Registry check, sex offender and criminal background screening, and fingerprinting.
- TB risk assessment to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and liability insurance required if position involves travel.

- Adherence to organization policies, standards, and training.
- Knowledge of special education technology software and tools.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The following physical, environmental, and mental requirements are necessary to perform this job's essential duties. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
- Work is primarily performed indoors. Services are primarily delivered in preschool classrooms, childcare, and community settings.
- Duties may require various physical positions including stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, holding, reaching, sitting, and moving between locations.
- Must be able to lift children or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Position requires managing moderate to high levels of mental and emotional demands.
- Flexible scheduling to meet children’s needs during preschool hours.
- Able to travel to sites, meetings, and trainings.
- Willing to drive in adverse weather conditions.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE:
- Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education and general direction from the Executive Director.
Pay: $64,615.00 - $94,825.00 per year
