Hotel Sales - true HUNTERS

TASKFORCE temporary job assignments (3 wks to 15 weeks) are ONSITE and require travel and require staying at the assigned hotel while on assignment. Travel is paid. Travel home every 3 weeks. This is NOT a Remote, full-time position.

Candidates are matched to job assignments based on Hotel Brand (Marriott, Hilton, etc), System Knowledge (CI/TY, Delphi, Fosse, Opera, Toast, etc), Positions held so please specify on your resume. Job assignments become available based on client needs across the US.

Position Summary

The Conference Services Manager / Event Manager is responsible for servicing and executing group meetings, conferences, and events from contract turnover through successful completion. This role serves as the primary liaison between the client and hotel operations, ensuring all event details are clearly communicated, properly documented, and flawlessly executed. The Conference Services Manager/Event Manager plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the hotel’s overall revenue and service goals.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution

Act as the primary point of contact for assigned groups and events from contract hand off through event completion.

Plan, detail, and execute meetings, conferences, and events including corporate, association, social, and catering functions.

Prepare and distribute accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), resumes, timelines, and event documentation.

Create and update room diagrams, floor plans, and event setups as required.

Conduct site inspections, pre conference meetings, BEO meetings, and post event follow up with clients.

Be on site during events to ensure smooth execution and resolve issues in real time.

Client & Guest Experience

Build strong relationships with meeting planners and clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Anticipate client needs and proactively address challenges to exceed guest expectations.

Handle VIP events and special requests with professionalism and attention to detail.

Partner with Sales to support upselling opportunities when appropriate.

Operational Coordination

Serve as the liaison between Sales, Catering, Banquets, Culinary, AV, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering.

Communicate all event requirements clearly to operating departments.

Monitor event space usage and assist with function space optimization.

Coordinate food and beverage details, menus, dietary restrictions, and special requests.

Work with Accounting to ensure proper deposits, billing accuracy, and final reconciliation.

Administrative & Systems Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records in the hotel’s event and sales systems.

Ensure all event details are updated and communicated in a timely manner.

Participate in daily business reviews and weekly event planning meetings.

Maintain compliance with brand standards and hotel operating procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in conference services, event management, or catering within a full service hotel environment.

Strong understanding of hotel operations and event execution.

Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast paced environment. .

Systems Experience (Preferred)

Experience with hotel sales and event systems such as CI/TY, Delphi, FOSSE, Toast, fdc, Opera, GXP, Social Tables, or similar platforms

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
