Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Superintendent to join a growing heavy civil construction team. The Bridge Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and supervise construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to plans and specifications.

This position will oversee field operations and may have one or more Foremen and/or Lead Persons reporting directly to them. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bridge, road, concrete, asphalt paving, or related heavy civil construction, along with strong leadership and communication skills.

The position can be based in the Cheyenne, WY or North Platte, NE area, with frequent travel to project sites and occasional overnight stays.

** Please note, to be considered for this position the individual must have bridge superintendent/foreman experience. Their experience cannot be bridge adjacent.

Key Responsibilities

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations Managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
Oversee crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and other resources required for successful project completion.
Allocate resources appropriately to achieve safety, schedule, cost, scope, and quality objectives.
Provide direction and leadership to Foremen and field personnel, ensuring daily activities are properly coordinated and completed.
Read, interpret, and work from construction plans, specifications, schedules, and technical documents.
Monitor construction schedules and project milestones and communicate potential delays or issues to Project Managers.
Maintain open communication with project leadership and promptly address issues that may impact project performance.
Participate in pre-construction meetings, project meetings, and other internal and external meetings as required.
Coordinate the delivery of construction materials, including concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and underground utility materials.
Ensure materials and equipment are available when needed to keep projects moving efficiently.
Provide leadership, mentoring, training, and development to field employees.
Assist Foremen with employee performance concerns and hold team members accountable for expectations.
Ensure equipment inspections and maintenance requirements are completed and equipment remains safe to operate.
Complete required project documentation, reports, paperwork, and administrative duties in a timely manner.
Safely operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
Ensure underground utility locates are completed and valid and that work areas are safe before construction activities begin.
Perform other duties related to project supervision and successful project completion.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
5–10 years of experience in road, bridge, concrete construction, asphalt paving, heavy civil construction, or a related field.
3–5 years of supervisory or field leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Basic understanding of project estimating and cost analysis.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, schedules, and safety regulations.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively under project deadlines and changing priorities.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of others.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop field personnel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees, management, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other project representatives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to learn company-specific software and mobile applications.
Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record required.
CDL is a plus.

Physical & Work Environment

Must wear and properly maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods, including 8 hours or more.
Ability to walk and work across uneven terrain.
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regular use of hands for handling materials, writing, keyboarding, and operating mobile devices.
Ability to communicate effectively and perform tasks requiring visual and auditory acuity.
Frequent work around heavy equipment and construction machinery.
Exposure to dust, noise, fuel, oil, other construction-related materials, and varying weather conditions.
Frequent travel to project sites is required, including occasional overnight stays away from home.

$90,000–$125,000 annual salary, based on experience
