Full Job Description

Tax Manager

Our client is looking for a Tax Manager to join their growing tax practice in Glenview, IL. This is a full-service CPA firm serving small to mid-sized businesses, individuals, and families across tax, audit, advisory, and specialized services — and one that's been recognized as an Illinois "Best Places to Work" for 11 years running. This role blends technical tax leadership with staff development and business growth, offering a strong path to build your career and your own client base.

What You'll Do:

Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns
Manage the tax provision and tax compliance process
Identify and implement process improvements in tax procedures
Build new and existing client relationships and develop deep knowledge of client businesses
Manage, train, and review tax staff, while mentoring tax associates
Take on broader responsibilities supporting overall firm management

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's in Accounting or Taxation preferred)
5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns; supervisory experience preferred
CPA certification required
Strong technical knowledge of tax law, including federal, state, and local reporting requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research/compliance software (e.g., CCH, Bloomberg, BNA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong client service orientation and relationship-building skills
Solid leadership and interpersonal skills, with an analytical, detail-oriented approach
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
