Full Job Description

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for an Ocean Import Account Representative to work with a leading global logistics provider in Elk Grove Village. This role is essential for coordinating and executing shipments to ensure high service levels for clients, acting as the primary liaison for assigned accounts.

Shift patterns:

- 1st shift, Monday to Friday

- 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm

Pay rates:

- 25.00 - 30.00 USD hourly

Essential requirements for Ocean Import Account Representative:

- How many years of experience do you have in international freight forwarding, import/export logistics, or supply chain operations?

- Which types of shipments have you managed?

- A customer's shipment is delayed at the port due to a customs hold. What would be your first three actions?

- Have you negotiated freight rates or transportation costs with carriers?

Role tasks for Ocean Import Account Representative:

- Coordinate and track incoming shipments with airlines, steamship lines, and NVOCC carriers.

- Manage billing processes, including detention, demurrage, and exam fees, while ensuring profitability.

- Negotiate pricing with ocean, agent, ground, and air carriers.

- Maintain clear communication with customers, vendors, and overseas agents to resolve inquiries and complaints.

- Process cargo bookings and manage file documentation within the Cargowise system.
