Full Job Description

Organization

RefugeeOne has a national reputation for its success in helping refugees fleeing war, terror and persecution to build new lives of safety, dignity and self-reliance. With a remarkably diverse staff who collectively speak 35+ languages, RefugeeOne has been resettling refugees in the Chicago area since 1982. For more information, visit www.refugeeone.org.

Responsibilities

Identify potential clients who may qualify for the Immigrant Family Resource Program (IFRP) and complete the respective intake process and registration
Provide case management services such as: help apply for DHS public benefits, All Kids program, WIC, IFSP, K12 school registration, among others, for eligible population
Provide interpretation for clients in a variety of settings including: schools, medical facilities, government offices and other services as needed
Refer eligible clients to internal RefugeeOne programs such as: Wellness, Youth, Employment, Immigration, Adult Education, etc.
Connect clients with external resources such as food banks, clothing banks, diaper banks, shelters, churches, clinics and hospitals, distribution events, community resources, etc.
Assist clients in successfully transitioning to life in the USA and becoming self-sufficient
Support IFRP team with client informative sessions, outreach events, and daily activities
Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned

These responsibilities are not exhaustive and are subject to regular review.

Qualifications

Preferred: bilingual fluency in Dari, Spanish or French
Must have a valid driver's license and use of a reliable car
Experience working with refugees is preferable
Willing to conduct outreach within Chicago and suburban communities
Comfortable working in a variety of settings (i.e. office, client homes, schools)
Must be flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends if needed
Must be highly organized and proficient in creating strong interpersonal relationships
Must have strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and Teams)
Experience using Salesforce preferred
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and exhibit attention to detail

Compensation: The base annual salary range for this role is $47,000-$48,500 commensurate with education and experience. A generous benefits package is offered with full-time employment.
