Job Description: Membership and Communications Coordinator (Part-Time)

About Us: The Niles Chamber is a vibrant organization dedicated to fostering a strong business community in the Niles area. We are committed to supporting local businesses, promoting economic growth, and creating networking opportunities for our members. We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Membership and Communications Coordinator on a part-time basis.

Position Overview: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to manage our membership activities and enhance our communication efforts. The Membership and Communications Coordinator will play a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with our members and ensuring that our communication channels effectively promote our organization's activities and events.

Responsibilities:

Membership Management:
Process new member applications.
Maintain an updated membership database and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Respond promptly to member inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for increasing membership and member engagement.
Assist in organizing membership events and networking opportunities.

Communication:
Create and send out weekly emails to members, including event invitations, updates, and relevant news.
Develop content for our social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media in a timely and professional manner.
Work closely with the team to develop communication campaigns that align with the chamber's goals.
Collaborate with various committees to gather information and insights for communication materials.

Content Creation:
Write compelling and concise content for newsletters, social media posts, and website updates.
Create visually appealing graphics, images, and videos to accompany communications.
Ensure all content is consistent with the chamber’s messaging.

Analytics and Reporting:
Track engagement metrics for emails and social media posts and provide regular reports.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in communications, marketing, business, or related fields is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in using email marketing platforms and social media management tools a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator.
Prior experience in membership management, communications, or related roles is preferred.

Schedule and Compensation:

This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling with the possibility of some remote work.
Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
