Full Job Description

$18.00per hour

Job Description:

The Medical Management Clerk performs a variety of duties both clinical and clerical in nature. This position requires skill in planning, organizing and coordinating the delivery of patient care by all staff personnel as well as the coordination of day to day office activities of the Medical Management Division.

Responsibilities:

Receives and coordinates all referrals to include notification of prior authorization and services covered.
Assures that all patient notes are properly documented and in order before forwarding to the referral case coordinator or case manager.
Using discretion and independent judgment in handling patient or physician complaints received, documents and forwards these complaints and issues to appropriate Medical Management staff.
Responsible for maintaining office supply inventory, as well as maintains log and any reports essential for appropriate billing and reorder process of supplies.
Answers all calls and inquiries received from physician, patient or employees about the patents care or needs.
Takes physician orders, documents and notifies appropriate Case Manager or Case Coordinator.
Files all office records as necessary.

Qualifications:

High School graduate or higher
One or two years of general clerical experience
Strong customer service orientation
Bi-lingual preferred
Knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as medical terminologies
Proficient in data entry for generation of daily office correspondence
