Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Middlefork School. The ideal candidate will support the physical education program by assisting the lead teachers in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students. This full-time position requires a passion for physical fitness and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead physical education teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans and activities.
- Support students in developing physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship during PE classes.
- Monitor student progress and provide individual assistance as needed to help them achieve their physical fitness goals.
- Organize and supervise recreational activities, games, and sports events.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students during physical activities.
- Help with the setup and cleanup of equipment and facilities before and after classes.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote health and wellness initiatives within the school.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of physical education.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Assist in maintaining records related to student participation and performance in physical education activities.

-Other duties as assigned by the administration

Requirements
- A bachelors' degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, sports, and fitness activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the lead teacher.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A passion for promoting health, fitness, and well-being among students.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27,300.00 per year
