We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an educator or learning professional who is passionate about supporting diverse learners through personalized instruction, skill development, and collaborative problem-solving.
Position Summary
The Learning Specialist works directly with students and adult learners to identify learning strengths, address academic challenges, and develop customized strategies that promote success across educational and professional settings. The successful candidate will provide individualized coaching and learning support while helping clients improve organization, study skills, executive functioning, reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and independent learning habits.
The Learning Specialist collaborates with clients, families, educators, and internal coaching staff to create individualized learning plans that address each client's unique goals and learning profile. This position requires strong communication skills, instructional expertise, empathy, creativity, and a commitment to helping clients build confidence while becoming independent learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized virtual learning sessions tailored to each client's educational needs and personal goals.
- Assess academic performance, learning strengths, executive functioning skills, and areas requiring additional support.
- Design customized learning plans using evidence-informed instructional strategies and measurable learning objectives.
- Teach effective study techniques, note-taking methods, reading comprehension strategies, writing organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Help clients develop executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, prioritization, task initiation, self-monitoring, and time management.
- Provide academic coaching and accountability that promotes independence and self-confidence.
- Support learners with diverse educational backgrounds and varying learning needs while maintaining a strengths-based approach.
- Monitor client progress, adjust instructional strategies, and document session outcomes accurately.
- Communicate professionally with clients, parents or guardians (when appropriate), and internal team members regarding progress and recommendations.
- Collaborate with executive functioning coaches and educational specialists to ensure coordinated support.
- Utilize digital learning platforms, educational technology, and virtual collaboration tools to deliver engaging instruction.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all client interactions.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to remain current with best practices in education, learning science, and executive functioning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Human Development, Counseling, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in teaching, tutoring, academic coaching, learning support, or educational services.
- Strong understanding of learning strategies, instructional design, and executive functioning principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms, online learning management systems, and productivity software.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional learning and educational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with students or adults with ADHD, learning differences, or executive functioning challenges.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and evidence-based educational practices.
- Familiarity with standardized testing support, college readiness, or academic intervention programs.
- Professional certification in learning support, executive functioning coaching, educational therapy, or related specialties.
- Experience using educational technology platforms, digital assessment tools, and collaborative project management software.

This is a remote position requiring a dedicated home office with reliable high-speed internet and a professional environment suitable for confidential virtual sessions.
