Full Job Description

Hiring Licensed Customs Broker

K Line Logistics USA Inc. is seeking a qualified individual for Licensed Customs Broker position at our Chicago Branch located at 265 S. PROSPECT AVENUE, ITASCA, IL 60143.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Branch General Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and processing entry documentation, obtaining Customs release and/or Partner Government Agency release.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare Customs entries for air and ocean shipments in a timely manner and follow-up with the clearance process.
File ISF and notify all related parties the same day and follow up until BOL match is achieved.

· Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as CBP, FDA, EPA, DOT, FCC, USDA, FWS, etc.

· Examine BOL, commercial invoices, and other shipping documents at the time receipt for completeness to ensure accurate and timely data entry submission to customs.

Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from U.S. tariff book and SOP's.

· Provide notification to all internal / external related parties for issues such as holds/exam/any written notices received from CBP/PGA.

· Staff backup.

· Assist with the creation of client SOP.

· Performs other or additional duties as assigned.

· Prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

· Maintain teamwork in the Brokerage department while being primarily responsible for designated job duties.

· Promote positive work attitudes and practices.

· Work closely with other internal departments to deliver high level of service to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma.

· College degree is preferred but not required.

· Must have a licensed Customs Broker in good standing.

· Maintaining CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) status with the NCBFAA is preferred.

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage.

· Experience in Freight Forwarding is preferred.

· In depth Knowledge of the HTS, 19 CFR, PGA requirements.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

· Cargowise software knowledge / experience is a plus.
