Business Development Professional

U.S. Markets

About the Role

Reporting to the North American Sales Director - VAB, the Business Development Professional is responsible for driving revenue growth across the Midwest and Eastern U.S states by expanding existing customer relationships, supporting our established distribution network, and identifying new business opportunities through both direct and channel sales.

This is an exciting opportunity to introduce an innovative packaging technology that delivers measurable value across a wide range of industries. As a consultative sales professional, you will work closely with customers to understand their operational challenges, demonstrate the value of our solutions, and build long-term partnerships that drive mutual success.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue and growth objectives.
Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and lead generation activities.
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across multiple industries using both direct and distributor sales channels.
Grow existing customer relationships by identifying expansion opportunities and delivering exceptional account management.
Support and collaborate with our key distribution partner, Veritiv Corp., and its Industrial Packaging sales team through joint sales calls, product training, and customer development initiatives.
Deliver compelling sales presentations, product demonstrations, and value-based proposals tailored to customer needs.
Guide customers through product evaluations, onboarding, implementation, and post-sale support to ensure successful adoption and long-term satisfaction.
Develop relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and executive stakeholders within customer organizations.
Represent WP Innova at trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and networking functions to increase brand awareness and generate qualified opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify emerging opportunities and recommend growth strategies.
Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, and opportunity management within Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
Travel regularly throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States, including overnight travel, to support customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, and drive territory growth.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven success in business development, outside sales, or territory management, preferably with Industrial packaging or Manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop, and close new business with a strong hunter mentality.
Exceptional relationship-building, networking, and consultative selling skills.
Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at all organizational levels.
Ability to effectively manage both short- and long-term sales cycles.
Skilled at identifying customer challenges and presenting data-driven, value-based solutions.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
