Full Job Description

Superintendent

Vero Design + Build, a design build firm that specializes in general contracting, custom millwork and steel fabrication, is looking for a motivated on-site superintendent to manage on-site construction teams and oversee all work. The duties include maintaining orderliness on-site, job scheduling and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Understand full project scope including all subcontractors’ scopes of work , recognize when change orders may be necessary and alert the project manager.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members to identify requirements and relay instructions.
Problem solve and work well under pressure and time constraints.
Develop and maintain project schedule and coordinate/communicate the schedule effectively with subcontractors.
Attend weekly progress meetings with clients
Assemble and maintain daily job logs

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years supervision experience
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
Ability to accurately take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Have the physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials.
Have knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, and are able to follow safety guidelines at all times.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Docs/Sheets platform and Google Drive sharing.
Ability to operate interlinked company standard spreadsheets
Previous carpentry or other trade experience and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Must provide their own transportation to and from jobsites in the Chicagoland area.

Compensation is commensurate with experience
