Litigation Paralegal

Location: Chicago, IL 60602
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hybrid Schedule: Eligible after successful completion of a six-week in-office onboarding and integration period.

Position Overview

Walner Law is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role provides critical support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and resolution.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission).
Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, medical records, and litigation deadlines.
Conduct legal and factual research and prepare summaries for attorneys.
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, medical providers, and court personnel.
Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation-related events.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation and provide in-court support as needed.
Gather, review, organize, and summarize medical records and other supporting documentation.
Prepare exhibits, trial binders, witness files, and other materials for hearings and trial.
Maintain accurate case information within Filevine and ensure all case activity is properly documented.
Assist attorneys with additional litigation projects and case management responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience.
Personal injury litigation experience is required.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Experience using Filevine or comparable case management software.
Strong legal writing, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Information

Occasional overtime may be required based on caseloads and litigation deadlines.
Hybrid work eligibility begins after the successful completion of a six-week in-office training and integration period.
Employees must successfully complete a three-month probationary period.
This position is based in our downtown Chicago office.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
