Full Job Description

PRiSMS Group operates Clinical Trial programs for Chicagoland/NW Indiana hospitals. We specialize in cancer and cardiovascular therapeutics.

Position (PART-TIME) :

Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) comprises an integral part of the research team. Working under the PI, he/she is responsible for conducting the study in accordance with federal and hospital regulations.

Some responsibilities of the Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) depending on need include:

Facilitates and coordinates the daily clinical trial activities and plays a critical role in the conduct of the clinical trials.
Accurate and timely trial data collection and reporting
Navigate cancer center investigators thru essential clinical trial tasks
Recruiting and Educating patient participants
Screening, tracking and scheduling trial patients
Performing study/protocol procedures in a detailed, accurate manner
Maintaining study files
Reporting all adverse events and SAEs
Processing and shipping lab work
Maintaining communication and correspondence (by telephone, email, fax, etc.) with subjects, sponsor, monitor and other site study personnel.
Completing case report forms (CRF) and electronic data capture (EDC) for PI review and approval
Coordinating site study monitor and sponsor visits
Maintaining study-specific supplies
Preparing for study closure and archiving
Knowledge of medical terminology (Oncology or Cardiology preferred).
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, FDA, ALCOA, HIPAA policies. (training provided)
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Meticulous attention to detail

Job Qualifications

A Nursing degree or 1-3 years of equivalent experience in medical clinic, research coordination required.
Experience working in a medical or scientific research setting or comparable technology orientated business environment preferred.
Performs primary duties with greater independence and has progressed to performing more advanced skill sets as directed.
EMR experience required
Some EDC (Rave, Oracle, Inform, etc.) experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent organization and communications skills required.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts.
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to follow-through.
Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workload.
Must practice discretion and adhere to hospital confidentiality guidelines at all times.
Must have computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
