Mr. Critter – Wildlife Removal & Restoration
Mr. Critter is looking for an experienced, mechanically inclined Wildlife Removal / Exclusion Technician to join our growing team.
We are specifically looking for someone who already has experience in wildlife control, roofing, exterior construction, or a similar skilled trade and is comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and around residential structures.
Experienced wildlife technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. We are also interested in experienced roofers who want to learn the wildlife trapping and removal side of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a hands-on position involving both wildlife removal and structural exclusion work, including:
- Inspecting homes for wildlife activity and identifying entry points
- Trapping and removing nuisance wildlife
- Setting, baiting, and servicing wildlife traps
- Installing one-way doors and other wildlife removal devices
- Performing bat and wildlife exclusion work
- Sealing fascia, soffits, rooflines, vents, and other potential entry points
- Installing wildlife-proof vent covers, barriers, and exclusion materials
- Performing repairs and preventative work on roofs and building exteriors
- Working from extension ladders and on residential roofs
- Communicating professionally with homeowners
- Documenting work performed and explaining findings to customers
Who We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates have experience in one or more of the following:
- Wildlife removal / nuisance wildlife control
- Roofing
- Siding, soffit, or fascia work
- Exterior home repair
- Carpentry or construction
- Pest control with structural exclusion experience
Wildlife experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right experienced tradesperson in trapping and wildlife behavior.
You should be comfortable diagnosing problems rather than simply being told exactly what to do. Every house and wildlife situation is different, so we’re looking for someone who can think through a problem, identify how an animal is getting into a structure, and determine the best way to solve it.
Requirements
- Comfortable working on roofs and extension ladders
- Strong construction/mechanical aptitude
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and clean/reasonable driving record
- Drug free and no criminal record
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting ladders, traps, tools, and materials
- Professional appearance and communication with customers
- Willingness to work around wildlife, attics, crawlspaces, and occasionally unpleasant conditions
What Makes Someone Successful at Mr. Critter
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work.
The right person doesn’t just cover a hole and leave. They want to understand why the problem happened, where the animal got in, and how to prevent it from happening again.
Attention to detail matters. Good exclusion work requires knowledge of both wildlife behavior and how homes are constructed.
If you’re already an experienced wildlife technician, we want to hear from you.
If you’re an experienced roofer or exterior tradesperson who’s tired of doing the same roofing work every day and would like to learn a specialized trade involving wildlife, troubleshooting, trapping, and repair work, we can teach you the wildlife side.
Why Work for Mr. Critter?
We believe that if we’re going to expect professional-quality work from our technicians, we need to give them professional-quality equipment to do the job.
We invest heavily in our technicians and provide:
- Quality company vehicles – We take pride in providing our technicians with professional, well-equipped vehicles that stand out from what you’ll typically find elsewhere in the industry.
- All necessary tools and equipment provided – You shouldn’t have to spend your own money building a collection of tools just to do your job properly. We provide the professional tools and equipment needed to perform our work.
- Hourly pay PLUS performance-based pay opportunities AND commision – We believe skilled, productive technicians should have the opportunity to earn more. In addition to hourly compensation, we offer performance-based pay that rewards quality work, productivity, and results.
- Variety in your work – You won’t be doing the exact same thing every day. Jobs can range from raccoon and squirrel trapping to bat exclusions, roof work, structural repairs, inspections, and preventative wildlife-proofing.
- Opportunity to develop a specialized skill set – Wildlife exclusion combines construction knowledge, problem solving, animal behavior, trapping, and customer service. Our goal is to develop technicians who understand the entire process.
- Room to grow with the company – We’re looking for people who want to become valuable, highly skilled technicians and be rewarded as their abilities and responsibilities grow.
We don’t expect our technicians to produce professional results with inadequate equipment or beat-up vehicles. We want our employees to have the tools, equipment, vehicle, training, and earning opportunities they need to take pride in what they do.
