Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing appointments and ensuring efficient scheduling for our dental team and patients. This position requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of dental terminology, and proficiency in Open Dental practice management software. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and supporting the overall operations of our dental facility.

Duties

Coordinate and manage appointment schedules for the dental team.
Utilize scheduling software within Open Dental to maintain accurate records.
Communicate with patients to confirm appointments, reschedule when necessary, and provide relevant information regarding their care plans.
Assist with administrative support tasks, including filing and managing health information.
Ensure compliance with health information management standards and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize scheduling processes and improve patient flow.
Stay updated on dental terminology and coding practices to facilitate effective communication within the team.

Experience

Previous experience in dental scheduling or administrative support within a dental setting is preferred.
Knowledge of coding systems related to dental billing is a plus.
Proficiency in using practice management software such as Open Dental is beneficial.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals effectively.
