Job Title: Operations Manager (OM)

Pay Range: $70,304 - $80,704

Location: Chico (We serve clients within 45 miles of this location)

Counties/Cities frequently served: Butte, Glenn and Tehama Counties

Job Status: Full-time

FLSA: Exempt (Salary, non-eligible for overtime)

Benefit Eligibility: Benefits available to employees meeting eligibility requirements under company policy.

Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week, with flexibility required for one weekend per month as part of the on-call scheduling rotation; client service hours operate Monday–Sunday, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

All required trainings, meetings, and certifications will be scheduled and compensated in compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, including overtime where applicable. *Typically scheduled on Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 pm.

Travel Consideration: Moderate travel (20–40%) required, primarily within state/region.

* All required business travel will be reimbursed in accordance with California Labor Code §2802 and company reimbursement policies.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager (OM) is a leadership role responsible for overseeing daily clinical and field operations at Advanced Crisis Solutions (ACS). The OM directly supervises Operations Team Leads (OTL) and provides indirect oversight of Behavior Technicians. The position is responsible for managing initial and ongoing training, quality service delivery, staff development, and overall compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The OM position may support additional daily administrative and operational procedures as needed, and integrates closely with other ACS departments.

Essential Functions

Provide support and supervision for OTLs, as assigned.
Provide indirect supervision for field staff.
Respond to behavioral challenges in remote fieldwork settings, model safe interventions, and conduct post-incident debriefing.
Strong communication skills that align with ACS culture and policies.
Assist with interviews, hiring, along with providing oversight to onboarding and orientation.
Manage, conduct and document employee evaluations, coaching and progressive accountability, working with administrative and HR personnel to ensure consistency and compliance.
Implement organizational initiatives
Coordinate and deliver required staff training (e.g., Professional Crisis Management, Ukeru, and Positively Motivating Others)
Assist with managing daily scheduling and staff deployment changes.
Support with compliance measures.
Support internal employee reviews, performance improvement planning, and coaching conversations in collaboration with HR.
Ensure compliance with ACS policies, state regulations, and Title 17 requirements.
Maintains dependable and regular attendance, including availability to work scheduled hours, attend required meetings, and meet the operational needs of the assigned caseload, consistent with applicable leave laws and reasonable accommodation requirements.

Required Education/Professional Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, behavior analysis, organizational leadership, or a related field
Required certifications will be provided and compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Certification status may impact an employee’s ability to work in client homes. (i.e., SHRM Essentials of HR Certification, CPR, PCM Instructor, Ukeru trainer, PMO Trainer, etc.)

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Minimum 2 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Minimum 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
Any post-offer medical inquiries or screenings will be conducted in compliance with the ADA and California FEHA and will be job-related and consistent with business necessity.
Background checks will be conducted in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act, including individualized assessment, notice, and opportunity to respond where required.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with driving record meeting company insurance carrier, fleet eligibility standards and proof of insurance.
Required certifications will be provided and compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Certification status may impact an employee’s ability to work in client homes. (i.e., CPR, PCM, Ukeru, PMO, etc.)
Must have access to reliable transportation for consistent travel.
Must be able to travel by car as needed for job duties.
Regularly use electronic devices such as phones, computers, tablets, or other screens.
Comply with company dress, hygiene, and professional presentation standards consistent with client safety and workplace professionalism.

Preferred Experience

Experience providing or managing behavior services and crisis stabilization programs
Experience with employee onboarding, training, and HR collaboration
Specific technical skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace / SaaS tools; Data analysis/reporting tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL), Clinical or therapeutic techniques (e.g., ABA therapy methods), CRM / ERP software (Salesforce, SAP), Programming languages (Python, Java, etc.)Equipment operation relevant to the role,
Specific soft skills: Communication (verbal and written), Collaboration / Teamwork, Problem-Solving / Critical Thinking, Time Management / Prioritization, Adaptability / Flexibility, Empathy / Customer Service Orientation, Leadership / Mentoring

Clinical Experience

Staff must document sessions and progress per the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Regional Center requirements.
Must complete agency-mandated training to maintain competencies.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 20 lbs., with occasional lifting of items over 100 lbs. The role involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, typing or handling materials, outward reaching, reaching above shoulder height, and bending. Climbing, crawling, and squatting or kneeling are required occasionally. The employee will frequently push or pull loads up to 12 lbs., and may occasionally be required to push or pull weights ranging from 13–100 lbs.

All physical interventions are conducted strictly in accordance with company-approved safety training protocols (e.g., PCM, Ukeru) and are designed to minimize risk of injury to clients and staff. No employee is required to perform interventions outside the scope of their training or certification.
