*Position Closes 8/9/2026*
We're seeking self-motivated individuals who understand the adult sports environment and are committed to creating positive experiences for all participants and staff. As the Head Sports On-site Lead, you will serve as the primary liaison between Sports Leadership and on-site staff, ensuring clear communication, consistent program delivery, and faithful adherence to all communication, policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by CARD.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for program participants and staff alike; fostering a respectful, inclusive environment while holding participants accountable for their conduct and ensuring all individuals uphold the standards expected of the program. You will be empowered to address behavioral concerns in a professional and constructive manner, escalating issues to Sports Leadership as appropriate.
Employment Dates: Season Duration: This position aligns with the upcoming adult sports fall season, running from September through November, with preseason trainings end of August.
Growth & Retention: We value long-term team members; high-performing officials will be prioritized for retention and may be invited to stay on staff for subsequent seasons- though this is not guaranteed.
Scheduling: Hours are flexible and assigned based on a combination of your availability, officiating experience, and the positive impact you make on-site for our players and community. Program sites typically run between 5:30p-11:00p, Monday-Friday.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 5:30pm-11:00pm
Times will vary slightly by day and location depending on the total number of fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility & Game Operations: Prepare and set up all necessary facilities prior to gameplay, ensuring a safe, organized, and competition-ready environment for all participants. Conduct a pre-activity safety inspection of the facility and equipment, promptly reporting any hazards or concerns to Sports Leadership. Following completion of games, oversee the breakdown and proper storage of facilities and equipment, and accurately record and submit all game scores in a timely manner.
- Roster & Compliance Management: Review and audit team rosters to verify that all players are properly registered and have completed required liability waivers prior to participation. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all participant documentation, flagging any discrepancies or missing information to Sports Leadership before play begins. Provide friendly, hands-on assistance to players who need support completing the enrollment and registration process, ensuring no participant is turned away due to an administrative oversight.
- Participant Experience & Engagement: Serve as a welcoming and professional point of contact for players, team managers, fans, and visitors — actively fostering a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere that reflects the values of the program and CARD. Use conflict resolution and de-escalation skills to address concerns in the moment, turning challenging situations into opportunities to reinforce the community spirit of the league.
- Behavioral Accountability & Documentation: Monitor participant conduct throughout all games and events, issuing and documenting behavioral actions such as warnings, technical fouls, yellow cards, and ejections as warranted. Maintain accurate and thorough records to support consistent enforcement of program policies and ensure full transparency with Sports Leadership. Serve as a calm, fair, and authoritative presence on-site, modeling the standard of conduct expected of all program participants.
- Communication & Leadership Support: Act as the on-site communication link between Sports Leadership and participants, relaying important program updates, rule changes, schedule adjustments, and announcements in a clear and timely manner. Proactively identify and report operational challenges, participant concerns, or recurring issues to Sports Leadership to support continuous program improvement. Contribute to a team-oriented culture by collaborating with fellow staff and supporting the overall mission of delivering safe, well-run, and meaningful adult sports programming.
Who We're Looking For:
You are a people-first professional who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to players, team managers, fans, and visitors alike. You understand that every interaction, whether resolving a scheduling concern, welcoming a first-time participant, or addressing a behavioral issue, is an opportunity to strengthen the community and reflect the mission of the program.
You are a confident and composed communicator, equally comfortable engaging with participants on the field and preparing clear, accurate written documentation for Sports Leadership. You know how to read a room, adapt your communication style to different audiences, and de-escalate tense situations with professionalism and calm.
You are a proactive problem solver who doesn't wait to be told what needs attention. You anticipate challenges before they arise, take initiative to resolve issues in the moment, and follow through to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. When a situation exceeds your authority, you know how and when to escalate appropriately.
