Job Title: Line Cook

Job Description:

Schermerhorn's Seafood is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a passion for delivering high-quality dishes consistently. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items in alignment with recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and cooking stations like saute, grill and fry.
Comply with health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Assist in the preparation of food items and ingredients for the service.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any necessary reordering to the kitchen manager.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Adapt to a variety of kitchen environments and culinary techniques with adaptability and enthusiasm.

Qualifications:

Experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a busy kitchen environment is required.
Culinary certification or degree is a plus but not required.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
