What You’ll Do
In a High Reliability Organization, the QRP (Quality Reporting Programs) Coordinator reports to and assists the Director of Infection Prevention and Quality Reporting Programs to maintain compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for applicable programs (CMS, TJC, etc.). The coordinator also provides oversight of all duties associated with the abstraction of clinical quality data for public (and other) reporting requirements for all Adena hospital locations. The Quality Coordinator supports quality activities according to service line, certification and regulatory requirements and initiatives. The role is also responsible for development and maintaining internal quality data dashboards, provides analytical support, and reports trends and opportunities for improvement to Quality leadership, stakeholders, teams, and committees accordingly. The coordinator role ensures that new standards and changes to measure sets are monitored, and that key stakeholders are educated on measure specifications. Serves as the liaison between outsourced abstraction services and platforms.
Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) must be acquired within 3 years of hire or equivalent Major/Area of Concentration: Nursing, Healthcare Quality Preferred Education: MSN preferred
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Active RN Licensure, CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) within 2 years of hire date
Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses:
Required Experience: 5 years recent clinical/hospital experience
Preferred Experience: EPIC navigation and chart review, Smart sheet, Excel, PowerPoint, WebEx Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with professional and hospital staff on clinical quality measure performance.
- The ability to educate leadership as well as frontline caregivers on topics related to clinical quality measures and performance is essential.
- Defines and measures quality processes and identifies variation from accepted standards of practice to include patterns and trends.
- Leverage Adena’s analytic environment to help guide data driven decision-making and inform quality improvement initiatives.
- Direct activities that support compliance with voluntary, mandatory and contractual reporting requirements for data acquisition, analysis, reporting and improvement. Job Specific Essential Functions
- Provides support for required quality reporting programs (CMS, TJC, etc.)
- Access and management of the CMS Healthcare Quality Reporting (HQR) site and other data submission and reporting portals to accomplish submission requirements and verification during preview and validation periods for hospital reporting programs across the system.
- Maintains adherence to deadlines and time targets for compliance with required reporting schedules in order to maintain Annual Payment Update (APU) payments and disseminated related reports accordingly.
- Evaluates integrity of data and monitors accuracy of abstraction on an ongoing basis with interrater reliability while addressing opportunities.
- Stays abreast of changes in standards, measure specifications, professional practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and provides education to stakeholders as needed.
• Proactively recommends, participates and supports multidisciplinary teams and educational sessions by providing updates or changes with best practice interventions. • Uses performance and process improvement, project management and change management methods to support operational and clinical quality initiatives, improve performance and achieve organizational goals.
- Performs other quality improvement/high reliability duties as assigned.
