Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator supports Haas, Inc.'s commitment to providing a safe and compliant workplace across all company operations. This position partners with field personnel, supervisors, and management to promote safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate employee training, and assist with safety-related programs.

The Safety Coordinator plays an active role in accident prevention, employee education, safety documentation, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position also administers the company's CDL compliance program and assists in the development and delivery of company-wide training. The Safety Coordinator reports directly to the Safety Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate and maintain compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and other applicable federal and state safety regulations.
Perform routine job site inspections, facility audits, and safety observations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage, and near-miss events while documenting findings and assisting with corrective action plans.
Assist with the administration of workers' compensation claims, including injury documentation, communication, and return-to-work coordination.
Coordinate new employee safety orientation and verify completion of required training before independent work assignments.
Develop, organize, and present safety training for employees, supervisors, and management personnel.
Lead recurring supervisor safety meetings and communicate updates regarding company policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate training records, inspection reports, incident documentation, and compliance files.
Support the management of the company's CDL qualification and compliance program.
Assist employees with safety questions, concerns, and reporting procedures while promoting a proactive safety culture.
Provide basic first aid when appropriate and assist with arranging medical care following workplace injuries.
Monitor Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and maintain chemical inventory records to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify trends, improve safety performance, and reduce workplace risk.
Protect confidential employee and company information while maintaining professional communication.
Perform additional duties related to safety, compliance, and training as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience in occupational safety, construction, transportation, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment preferred.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
Familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Schedule

Typical schedule averages approximately 40 hours per week, with additional hours required during peak construction seasons or to support operational needs.
Travel between company facilities and active job sites is expected.
Frequent driving throughout the workday may be required.
Flexibility to respond to incidents, training needs, or business demands outside of standard business hours.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
