Full Job Description

Experienced Underground Utility Laborer

Dan's Construction and Excavation, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Underground Utility Laborer to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded individual with experience in underground utility construction who takes pride in producing quality work and contributing to a successful crew.

This position offers competitive pay ranging from $30-$45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Assist in the installation of underground utilities including water mains, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and related infrastructure.
Work alongside equipment operators to safely excavate, grade, and install utility systems.
Set grades and elevations using lasers and grade rods.
Assist with pipe installation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction.
Perform utility connections and repairs.
Read and understand utility plans, grade stakes, and construction layouts.
Ensure trenches, excavations, and work areas are maintained in accordance with safety regulations.
Operate hand tools, power tools, compaction equipment, and other jobsite equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of underground utility construction experience preferred.
Experience installing water, sewer, and storm sewer systems.
Knowledge of trench safety practices and excavation procedures.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL preferred but not required.
Experience reading plans and grades is a plus.
Occasional out-of-town work may be required (expenses paid).
