We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems, including pumps, valves, sprinklers, and other components. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of water management principles and be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow with our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with irrigation systems.
- Adjust and calibrate irrigation systems to ensure proper water flow and pressure.
- Perform maintenance on pumps, valves, and other components of irrigation systems.
- Keep records of system maintenance and repairs.
- Operate equipment such as tractors, mowers, and other machinery.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 or more years’ experience
- Current valid and clean driver’s license
- Current PLT License or willing to work towards licensure
- Current DOT medical card
- Drug free
- Strong customer service background
- Essential knowledge and have recent prior experience with trenchers, multi-meters, wire locators, vibratory plows and pipe sizing
Abilities and Skills:
- Must be self-motivated, work well with others and be professional in appearance and actions.
- Must be detail oriented, posses critical thinking skills and ability to multi-task
- Must have the ability to be proactive, plan ahead and problem solve to minimize disruption, errors, risks and keep maintenance schedules on task, within budget and on-time
- Must take ownership of the work and own the responsibilities of making sure things are done accurately and to the complete satisfaction of the customer. Ensure tasks were completed according to the contracted terms and if not, take ownership and actions to ensure these are corrected in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities and without supervision
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and possibly, although rarely, holidays should work warrant
- Ability to safely operate all assigned equipment and tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, reach and climb ladders
Working Conditions:
This work is primarily performed outside in all sorts of weather conditions (i.e. hot, humid, cold, wet, windy, rain, snow) which means the person will need to be adequately prepared.
