Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented General Accountant with a minimum of three years of experience in the hotel industry, specifically with Marriott properties. The ideal candidate will possess a valid US driver’s license and demonstrate strong expertise in hotel financial operations, regulatory compliance, and accounting software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of our hospitality organization by managing core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting audit processes. Responsibilities

Manage daily general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis to support management decision-making.
Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), regulatory standards, and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
Conduct bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow analyses to maintain financial integrity.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Utilize financial software including M3, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms for efficient data management.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities aligned with hotel operations.

Requirements

Minimum of three years’ experience as a General Accountant within the hotel industry; Marriott experience is highly preferred.
Valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong proficiency in accounting software such as M3, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar tools; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (VLOOKUP function, spreadsheets) is essential.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, technical accounting principles, and regulatory compliance standards like SOX.
Experience with hotel-specific financial concepts including revenue recognition, expense management, and inventory control.
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and financial analysis accurately.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data clearly.
Strong communication skills for effective mentoring of team members and collaboration across departments.
