We've spent the last several years intentionally building the capabilities needed to become a premier government and defense supplier. Now we're looking for someone who is excited to help turn those capabilities into execution, revenue, and long-term customer relationships.
You'll join a leadership team that believes government sales isn't won by simply responding to bids. It's won by building relationships, creating opportunities, and consistently executing better than the competition.
We've already built the foundation, including:
- GSA Multiple Award Schedule Contract
- Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)
- Pursuing HUBZone certification
- HubSpot CRM
- Government capability statements and marketing materials
- Strategic manufacturer partnerships
- Strong public safety brands including Fire Etc., Police Etc., USA Etc., SoCal PPE, Redline Rentals and Tinosa
- Membership in the San Diego Military Advisory Council (SDMAC)
- Active participation in government contracting networking events hosted by organizations such as Bank of America, LevitZacks, and other industry partners
- Relationships with military commands, public agencies, and industry leaders throughout Southern California

Position Summary
The Government Sales & Contracts Coordinator will play a key role in helping Fire Etc. grow its government and defense business.
This position combines business development support, proposal coordination, relationship management, networking, CRM management, and government contract administration into one highly visible growth role.
You'll work alongside company leadership to help execute our government sales strategy while helping build one of our most important long-term growth initiatives.
This isn't simply a proposal coordination role.
This is someone who wants to help build a high-performing government sales program.
Working alongside the Defense & Industrial Manager and executive leadership, you'll receive coaching and mentorship as you grow into increasing levels of responsibility.

Primary Responsibilities
Government Sales Execution
- Identify and monitor government sales opportunities through B2G, SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, and other procurement resources.
- Evaluate opportunities against Fire Etc.'s products, contract vehicles, and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate proposal development from opportunity identification through submission.
- Manage proposal schedules, compliance requirements, and submission deadlines.
- Maintain proposal templates, response libraries, and contract documentation.
Government Relationship Development
Working alongside company leadership, you will help expand Fire Etc.'s presence throughout the government contracting community by:
- Supporting outreach to contracting officers, procurement officials, military commands, and public agencies.
- Coordinating capability statement distribution and follow-up communications.
- Helping maintain relationships with existing government customers while introducing Fire Etc. to new agencies.
- Assisting with customer visits, demonstrations, and government meetings.
- Building and maintaining agency contact records within HubSpot.
Networking & Industry Engagement
Government sales is built on relationships.
You'll actively participate in helping Fire Etc. expand its presence within the government contracting community by:
- Attending industry conferences and trade shows.
- Participating in SDMAC events.
- Attending government contracting events hosted by organizations such as Bank of America, LevitZacks, and other strategic partners.
- Supporting military and government networking opportunities.
- Representing Fire Etc. professionally while expanding our visibility throughout the public safety and defense communities.
- Working with our Customer Experience and Operations Specialists to execute events in this segment.
This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people, asking questions, building relationships, and creating opportunities.
Occasional local and regional travel should be expected to support customer visits, networking events, trade shows, military installations, and government conferences. With one of the nation's largest concentrations of military and defense organizations located in San Diego, you'll have tremendous opportunities to build relationships close to home.
CRM & Sales Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain government opportunities within HubSpot.
- Leverage both our licensed and internal government contact databases to identify agencies, contracting officers, and business opportunities.
- Track agency contacts and sales activities.
- Build organized sales pipelines.
- Document customer interactions.
- Coordinate follow-up activities.
- Help leadership measure sales performance through meaningful metrics.
Government Sales Operations
- Support GSA Schedule maintenance.
- Assist with contract modifications.
- Maintain registrations and certifications.
- Organize compliance documentation.
- Coordinate manufacturer certifications and required proposal documents.
- Assist with government reporting requirements.
Process Improvement
Help design scalable systems that make Fire Etc.'s government sales process faster, smarter, and more effective every year.

What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll help Fire Etc.:
- Build and maintain an organized government sales pipeline within HubSpot.
- Expand relationships with contracting officers, military commands, and government agencies throughout Southern California.
- Increase the number of qualified government sales opportunities entering our pipeline.
- Coordinate the timely submission of high-quality, competitive government proposals.
- Improve proposal turnaround time and execution consistency.
- Help generate measurable government contract revenue growth.
- Play an instrumental role in establishing Fire Etc. as a trusted government supplier throughout Southern California and beyond
Education & Qualifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related field.
Equivalent combinations of education, military experience, government service, procurement experience, or relevant business experience will also be strongly considered.

Experience with GSA, SAM.gov, FAR regulations, federal procurement processes or Wide Area Work Flow is helpful but not required. We are willing to invest in training the right person who demonstrates initiative, organization, and a desire to learn.

Compensation
Competitive salary ($50,000-$60,000, depending on experience) plus bonus opportunities, health benefits, paid time off, profit sharing and retirement plan, and professional development.
