Full Job Description

Beechwood Home is a 5-STAR not-for-profit nursing facility located in Hyde Park. We specialize in providing high quality long-term care for neurological residents. Our 80 residents participate in therapeutic and recreational activities that assist in their optimal functioning. The Activity Manager reports to the Administrator and supervises staff of the Activities department planning facility-wide events, programs for the Beechwood residents and staff as well as clinical services for the residents. Coordinates and plans therapeutic, leisure and diversional activities for the residents. Supervises activities and clinical care provided by the staff and volunteers of these departments to assure that services provided meet the needs of the residents, the scope of practice of the professional associations, the expectations of the leadership as well as the standards of the Ohio Department of Health (aka ODH).

QUALIFICATIONS

2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was in an activities program in a healthcare setting full-time.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Licensed Occupational Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Activity Director Certified (ADC) thru NCCAP required.
B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.
Ohio License if Occupational Therapist, Certification if Therapeutic Recreation specialist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or other Activity professional.
Must have a valid driver's license to drive the Beechwood Vehicles.
American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR certification.
State Tested Nurse Aide preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.

Pay: $58,500.00 - $62,400.00 per year
