What You’ll Do

As a Construction Co-op, you’ll spend about 60-70% of your time in the field gaining hands-on construction experience, and about 30-40% in the office supporting project planning and administration. Your responsibilities will include:

Support project management: Work alongside Senior Project Supervisors to oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout, serving as a key point of contact for assigned projects
Assist with construction activities: Participate in weekly jobsite tasks and meetings, help manage contractor bids, coordinate equipment orders and deliveries, and support fixture installations.
Review plans and documentation: Contribute to the review of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration plans, evaluate proposed change orders, and ensure compliance with company standards and specifications
Contribute to project execution: Help with project closeout activities such as punch lists, as-builts, final invoicing, and documentation
Manage smaller projects: Take ownership of minor capital projects, including preparing estimates and coordinating completion
Collaborate and learn: Attend departmental meetings and daily huddles, support other Facility Engineering team members, and complete a cumulative internship project to present to leadership
Maintain safety and quality: Uphold safety protocols and participate in quality control inspections on active projects

Job Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
Proven verbal and written communication
Excellent interpersonal skills
Travel as needed
Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
Flexible to work overtime, weekends, and occasional nights if needed
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Self-starter with the ability to work on a team
