REPORTS TO: Treasurer of Union Baptist Church
JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Clerk supports the Mission and Vision of Union Baptist Church of Cincinnati, reports directly to the Finance Team and is responsible for providing overall support of the Senior Pastor and Church in performing assignments essential to accomplishing the Mission and Vision of Union Baptist Church of Cincinnati. is responsible for the daily management and administration of the church office, church office staff, and volunteer staff.
The position requires excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and knowledge in management, knowledge of software packages pertinent to the job position responsibilities.
In addition, this position requires excellent skills in effective leadership, decision-making, organization and planning, attention to detail, problem solving, record-keeping, good facilitation, ability to manage, ability to present oneself professionally, handling sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality, and ability to prioritize and to be flexible, handling multiple tasks with little supervision.
In addition, the Financial Clerk serves as a liaison with the Trustee Board Ministry, Deacon Board Ministry, Official Board Ministry and other Church Ministries concerning all matters assigned areas of responsibility.
**** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Manages the prompt payment of all church financial obligations in accordance with established church procedures while ensuring proper maintenance and security of all church financial records.
2) Develops, implements, and manages a payment process to ensure that all financial obligations are paid promptly.
3) Prepares a detailed monthly listing of church financial obligations by the appropriate time each month to be presented to the Finance Committee, Trustee Chairman and Senior Pastor.
4) Prepares the weekly Union Baptist Church Contribution Report for Senior Pastor for record keeping.
5) Manages all accounts receivable and accounts payable; prepares monthly budget and expenditure reports for all ministries.
6) Coordinates and ensures that checks are prepared using the established computerized system. Manual checks must be authorized by the Trustee Board following financial policies.
7) Monitors all budget accounts and expenditures to ensure that spending is in line with the approved Budget.
8) Responsible for all computer information systems and office automation. This includes planning, development, implementation, and system maintenance. Maintains inventory of equipment and software/hardware vendor lists.
9) Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor.
**** LEGAL MATTERS
1. Be familiar with and comply with the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the Church.
2. Attest all contracts and other legal instruments/documents of the Church in coordination with the officers of the Trustee Board Ministry.
**** CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
1. Protect Church assets (personnel, financial and facilities) from inappropriate use, theft, damage, legal action or other threats.
2. Maintain official corporate documents, as authorized by the Trustee Board, in a secure format accessible only to authorized parties.
3. Provide pertinent information to Church Ministries.
4. Assist donors/members with any special requests or needs.
