Position Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories (e.g., steel, electrical components, mechanical systems, construction services, indirect spend).
- Lead competitive bidding processes (RFQs, RFPs), supplier evaluations, and total cost of ownership analyses.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and risk mitigation.
- Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to reduce risk and enhance supply flexibility.
- Support supplier audits and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to support procurement for greenhouse construction and infrastructure projects.
- Manage procurement timelines, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
- Track and expedite critical materials and services to avoid delays.
- Oversee purchase order lifecycle from requisition through delivery and invoice resolution.
- Ensure accurate and timely procurement transactions within ERP systems.
- Maintain compliance with procurement policies and internal controls.
- Partner with engineering, finance, operations, and logistics teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Provide market intelligence (pricing trends, supply risks, commodity insights) to stakeholders.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to material and project costs.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis) and overall Microsoft Office suite
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Deep understanding of sourcing strategies and cost analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience sourcing metals (steel, aluminum), MRO, or engineered components.
- Familiarity with capital equipment procurement or construction-related sourcing is a plus.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP) are a plus.
