POSITION PURPOSE
The National Account Manager is responsible for managing, developing, and growing strategic retail account relationships to drive sales, profitability, market share, and overall performance of Bona products. This position is responsible for developing and executing account strategies, supporting new item introductions, managing promotional plans, analyzing sales and category performance, and identifying opportunities for continued growth within assigned retail accounts. This individual will partner closely with Sales Management, Marketing, Product Management, Account Services, and other internal teams to ensure timely communication, strong execution, and alignment with company objectives. The National Account Manager will contribute to a positive team atmosphere and apply all internal guidelines in a fair and consistent manner.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience as a National Account Manager or in a similar role
- 2+ years of experience using IRI/Nielsen syndicated data to drive sales/category management within key customers
- 5+ years of experience in the consumer products industry
- Experience managing or supporting corporate retail accounts, including sales planning, promotional planning, item setup/maintenance, replenishment, and customer programs
- Experience using retailer customer portals, syndicated data, consumer research, customer data, and/or category insights to support sales and category decisions is preferred
- Experience negotiating, managing, and fulfilling retail account agreements, promotional plans, and customer programs
- Strong analytical, presentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are preferred
- Must demonstrate self-motivation, enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and a goal-oriented approach
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time, or as required by business needs
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop, manage, and grow assigned retail account relationships in alignment with company sales, profitability, and strategic objectives.
- Prepare and deliver professional account presentations utilizing Sales and Marketing data, syndicated data, consumer research, customer insights, and retailer-specific performance data.
- Develop and manage account promotional plans in alignment with retail sales strategies, brand objectives, trade budgets, and profit guidelines.
- Prepare sales projections, account plans, management reports, budgets, and business reviews as needed.
- Communicate account activity, business updates, opportunities, risks, and recommendations to Sales, Account Services, Product Management, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders on a timely basis.
- Manage broker relationships, when applicable, to support execution of company sales plans and retail account objectives.
- Manage business growth within approved trade budget and profitability guidelines established by Retail Sales leadership.
- Support retail objectives, including new item distribution, promotional planning, shelf space management, pricing strategy execution, and account-specific growth initiatives.
- Monitor competitive activity, category trends, sales performance, and retail conditions; provide accurate and timely updates to Retail Sales leadership with recommendations to protect and grow market share.
- Provide regular sales, share, category, and brand updates to assigned retail customers.
- Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews with retail buyers and key account stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments and build cross-functional relationships with external retail partners in areas such as marketing, ecommerce, replenishment, merchandising, and category management.
- Identify, pursue, and develop new account opportunities that support company growth objectives.
- Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines and travel when necessary.
- Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Must be able to bend, climb stairs, and continuously stand or walk 50% of the time.
- Must be able to move within the office and plant to reach file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to use dexterity to handle small safety equipment and/or hazardous material.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25+ lbs and frequently move equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.
- This position regularly requires large amounts of time to be spent using and viewing computer screens and equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions.
- May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals. All safety procedures should be adhered to in each of these situations.

Compensation Range: $100,000 to $115,000 per year

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range provided. The compensation range listed above may encompass base salary, performance-based bonuses, and commission opportunities, if applicable.
