JOB SUMMARY
The Set-Up Technician is responsible for helping the Injection Molding Process Technician with molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection mold equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer different machine alarms.
- Ensure all hoppers are filled.
- Completing line clearance at the end of each run.
- Drain and clean hoppers and fill with next resin.
- Set up auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mold changes and restarts.
- Assist process technician where needed.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to make the most productive use of available time.
- Ability to remain professional and calm in a pressure situation.
- Performs other accountabilities as apparent or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must understand plastics and different material characteristics.
- Good communication and ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully accomplish job duties.
- Strong interpersonal skills a must.
- Self-Motivated
- Good problem-solving skills are essential.
- On an occasional basis, must be able to put in overtime (paid); perhaps with short notice to maintain production.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Continuously lifting or moving material of light weight (up to 10 pounds)
- Frequently lifting or moving average weight material (between 25-60 pounds)
- Occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material (over 60 pounds)
- Sitting, Bending, Standing, and Walking 100% of the time.
- Observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
- Safety glasses required.
- Steel-toed safety work shoes or boots are required.
- Must have sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform all required tasks.
