Full Job Description

Overview:

Family owned machine shop seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality products using CNC lathes and milling centers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in machining, with programming and problem solving abilities. The Senior Machinist will be expected to work closely with other team members to execute production processes and maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Duties:

Perform set ups and lead production in CNC lathe centers
Set up and operate a range of machines, including CNC lathes and CNC milling machines.
Performs programming and modifies processes if necessary.
Utilize CAD software and CAM programming to manufacture products.
Ability to set up and manufacture rework, prototypes and First Articles.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of manufactured parts by using precision measuring instruments while maintaining in-process inspection documentation.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machines to minimize downtime.
Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to transport and store raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
Collaborate with other team members.
Capable of training new employees.
Comply with all relevant safety and quality control procedures.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience as a machinist.
Proficiency in machine programming.
Experience with CNC lathes and CNC milling machines.
Experience with quality control procedures.
Ability to lift heavy objects and operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve production goals.

Schedule:

5 days per week; 7am - 3:30pm. Overtime eligible.

5 days per week; 3pm - 11:30pm. Overtime eligible

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
