Position Summary
The Orbital Welder / TIG Welder Assistant supports the fabrication of precision stainless steel tube assemblies used in critical applications. This position performs TIG tack welds to accurately position stainless steel tubing and fittings prior to the final automated orbital weld process.
Successful candidates will also assist with material preparation, workstation organization, quality inspections, and general production support activities to ensure efficient workflow within the manufacturing cell.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform TIG tack welds on stainless steel tubing, elbows, fittings, and related components.
- Accurately align and fit-up tube assemblies prior to final welding.
- Load and secure assemblies into orbital welding fixtures.
- Operate and monitor automated orbital welding equipment after training.
- Verify part dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments and fixtures.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, appearance, and conformance to specifications.
- Prepare materials and components for production.
- Open, sort, stage, and organize incoming materials and hardware.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support inventory organization and material handling activities.
- Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Assist team members with various production tasks as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the work cell.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of welding principles.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Dependable work ethic and positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
Preferred
- Technical school or vocational training in welding.
- TIG welding experience through school, internships, hobbies, or previous employment.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Experience working with stainless steel.
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience.

Pay: Based on Experience $20/hr. - $24/hr.
