Summary

Some coaches inherit dynasties. This one gets to build on one. The Sales & Service Manager steps into a role anchored by a strong, veteran customer service team, a proven core that knows the playbook, owns the culture, and shows up ready to perform. Your first order of business is to elevate their game by sharpening skills, refining systems, and pushing an already solid unit to play at an even higher level. Next is to build around them by recruiting, developing, and integrating a brand-new inside sales team that complements what’s already working and takes the whole organization to the next level. You’ll set the vision, install the systems, and foster the kind of locker room culture where veterans mentor rookies and everybody raises their game. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time as management deems necessary.

Team Leadership & Accountability: Foster a positive, collaborative, and engaging department culture where employees thrive. Lead, manage, and hold your teams accountable. Conduct one-on-ones, coach for growth, give feedback (the good and the constructive), and keep communication flowing in all directions.
Inside Sales Management: Direct and coordinate all inside sales functions. Set clear expectations, monitor performance against KPIs, and ensure the team stays focused on proactive outbound activity (including hunting for new business, re-engaging dormant accounts, and following up on marketing leads) rather than becoming entirely reactive to inbound tasks.
Customer Service Oversight: Oversee the customer service team in delivering fast, accurate, and genuinely excellent support. CS is the operational backbone that keeps the day-to-day running smoothly by managing orders, resolving issues, and handling general customer communication so the inside sales team can stay focused on growth.
Performance Metrics & Data Analysis: Track and manage key KPIs including response time, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, outbound volume (calls, emails, and other outreach), new customer acquisition, and reactivated account rates. Use data to identify trends, coach individuals, and continuously raise the performance bar across the team.
Process Management & Optimization: Continuously improve customer service and inside sales workflows to increase productivity and deliver a superior customer experience. Analyze performance data and customer feedback to identify trends, remove friction, and build scalable, repeatable processes that the whole team can execute consistently.
Order Processing Oversight: Ensure orders and quotes are entered promptly and accurately according to customer requirements, and that orders are properly released for production with all required materials present and organized.
Escalation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated customer issues. Handle them with urgency, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to long-term customer satisfaction.
Key Account Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Encourage and model relationship-building across both teams. Customers should feel like they’re dealing with people who actually know them and care about their business.
Technology & Systems Utilization: Ensure all customer-facing technology, phone and email systems, and CRM tools are optimized and up to date. Make sure every team member is trained and effectively using the tools at their disposal. If something can be done faster or smarter, find the way.
Recruitment, Training & Development: Assist HR in the hiring and development of team members who exemplify company values. Cross-train employees across functions to build redundancy and flexibility. Provide ongoing coaching, education, and retraining as processes and technology evolve.

What Success Looks Like

The inside sales team is consistently hitting outbound activity targets and driving measurable revenue growth.
New customer acquisition and dormant account reactivation rates are tracked, reported, and trending in the right direction.
The customer service team is operating at a high level with fast response times, accurate order processing, and customers who feel genuinely taken care of.
Both teams work in sync: inside sales owns the relationship and drives growth; customer service handles the day-to-day so reps can stay focused on growth activities.
Processes are documented, scalable, and continuously improving.
The team culture is one people are proud of (high accountability, high support, and genuinely fun to be part of).
Leadership spends less time troubleshooting and more time planning because the system works.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The ideal candidate brings a structured, data-driven approach to team development and thrives in a fast-paced environment centered on custom or made-to-order products.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable teams across multiple functions
Proven track record of building or improving inside sales workflows and driving measurable revenue metrics.
B2B experience within a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing model (specifically with custom or made-to-order products) is highly preferred.
Experience within the awards, recognition, or promotional products industry is a plus.
Proficiency with CRM software, ERP systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to accommodate occasional, infrequent business travel as required by business needs.

Work Environment

This position primarily functions in a professional, climate-controlled office environment at the Erlanger, KY facility. The role requires regular interaction with office-based personnel and occasional coordination with production or distribution areas.

Physical Demands

This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, data review, and computer-based work, interspersed with standing, walking through the facility, and the ability to occasionally lift standard office materials or sample products.
