POSITION DESCRIPTION
Equity Research Associate
Summary / objective of position:
To provide equity research support to the Research Department, collecting relevant financial information and assisting product managers and analysts in security selection and portfolio management.
Essential functions of position:
- Provide support to equity research analysts and product managers
- Monitor daily news reports relevant to fund holdings and monitor list stocks
- Maintain spreadsheets of key fundamental data and portfolio characteristics
- Analyze performance attribution, evaluate return/risk characteristics, perform peer comparisons
- Assist research analysts in expanding their coverage list and provide analytical support
- Produce introductory reports that describe companies, basic fundamental and valuation data
- Perform project work collecting third-party information and conducting data analysis
- Help to produce research presentations and publications for internal and external use
- Promote and maintain frequent interaction with product managers and analysts
- Work on special projects as directed by the Director of Research
- Develop skill set and experience necessary to become a research analyst
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate and improve research processes
Preferred education and experience
- Four-year degree in Finance/Economics or related field
- 0-3 years of investment research or related experience
- Demonstrate commitment to achieving CFA designation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Good organizational skills
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, or Advent a plus

Work environment: Temperature controlled, office environment
Physical demands: Must be able to stand or sit at computer for 8+ hours per day. May require extensive typing at times.
