Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Administration and Planning: Develop division goals, procedures, and scope of work; initiate and create policy and procedure; coordinate activity between subordinate sections and other department sections; coordinate large-scale emergency repairs and system events to water and wastewater collection systems and wastewater treatment plants; approve final recommendations for equipment purchases, training requests, process modifications, etc.; participate on the BCWS Core Management Team; participate on BCWS Regulatory and Security Team, Inflow and Infiltration Team, and Lift Station Team; plan for future growth, new expansions, and process modifications; review plans for expansion and/or modifications; recommend system and business improvements; allocate BCWS resources; review budgets; communicate issues to BCWS stakeholders; resolve customer complaints; resolve disputes between sections; conduct staff meetings; provide input on human resources issues; participate on management Collective Bargaining Team; establish priorities that focus on reaching long-term goals of the BCWS; assist consultants in field studies; and develop operational strategies.
Reporting: Analyze operating data; report data for operating, labor, regulatory and other issues; identify telemetry and control system opportunities and serve as liaison between the operations and instrumentation sections on these issues; and manage the enterprise asset management system and monitor key performance indicators and other metrics.
Supervision: Manage, direct, and supervise employees; schedule, assign, and monitor work; evaluate performance; recommend salary adjustments; develop staff; recommend disciplinary action; and train employees.
Acts as liaison to BCWS stakeholders; coordinates projects identified by the Butler County Board of Commissioners and the BCWS Director; prepares public presentations; responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an area such as business or public administration or in a process-related field such as chemistry or microbiology; and

- Significant experience in the management and administration of a public utility; or

- Any combination of education, experience and/or training equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications.

Pay: $90,064.00 - $130,603.20 per year
