The Lead Sanitor directs, trains, and works with sanitors to maintain a clean and pest free facility that is compliant with FDA regulations. The duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling of sanitation duties, recording cleaning frequencies, updating sanitation master cleaning schedule, performing food plant inspections, quality assurance, safety, GMP’s, and training of sanitors and QA technicians. The Lead Sanitor will also work in positions as operator to fill-in for breaks, lunches or shortages of team members as needed. This position description does not contain a comprehensive list of required duties and responsibilities.
1st shift - Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm
3rd shift - Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am

High School Diploma or GED required;
-
Previous training and experience in the baking industry obtained through education or experience is preferred;
-
Good interpersonal and human relations skills with ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor accepting responsibility and willingness to learn;
-
Knowledge, training, and experience with production, sanitation, quality, and safety;
-
Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively give clear instructions to direct and motivate team members;
-
Good understanding of HACCP, SSOP, GMPs, and knowledge of FDA regulations;
-
Proficiently work with computers with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and warehouse management software (ERP/WMS);
-
Possess the aptitude to complete the AIB course and AIB Principles in Baking if needed.

Schedule, direct and organize sanitation duties; train sanitors in equipment and factory clean-up procedures;
-
Ensure documentation is FDA and AIB compliant;
-
Maintain sanitation supplies inventory control;
-
Machine mixer and extruder operation following procedures and maintaining standards to produce consistent dough for development of buns;
-
Final Checker to ensure that there is no excessive flour in pans and that the dough balls are properly panned;
-
Operating the packaging machine, palletizing, and fork truck to store packaged product for selection and shipment by the shipping department;

Carton stripping to sort through bad corrugated cartons for re-use in the box former;
-
Check and set equipment such as the proof box and oven;
-
Ability to function efficiently in any of the production line positions which is acquired through observation and hands-on experience;

Maintain and follow all company safety rules and ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and HACCP program requirements are followed by all team members and contract labor;

Load trucks and receive raw materials;
-
Perform housekeeping duties as needed;

Attend various training classes or seminars as recommended by management;
-
Comply with incident reporting policies and procedures;
-
Ensure adherence to plant’s security and safety policies and procedures, and a safe working environment for all Team Members;
-
Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization in a professional manner, display a positive demeanor and be responsive to team members’ needs; and
-
Must be flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant including any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to bend, turn, twist, climb, and stoop;
-
Occasional lift to 60 lbs.;
-
Capability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to flour dust, extreme cold, wet, hot, reduced visibility, dusty, work with chemicals, and other elements;

Aptitude to work in confined spaces and climb to elevated heights;
-
Wearing safety gear including safety glasses, and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company;
-
Frequent periods of standing, and walking; and
-
Ability to hear, comprehend, and professionally respond to co-worker inquiries, comments, and concerns.
Pay rate: $29.74 per hour
