Position Overview / Summary
Metalex is seeking a highly motivated Master Production Scheduler that will be responsible for developing and maintaining weekly production schedules for critical manufacturing resources and ensuring successful execution to achieve on-time delivery, cost and quality targets for customer projects across a diverse group of industries including Space, Energy, Defense, Aerospace, Marine and Consumer Goods.
As a key leader within our Production Control and Project Management team at Metalex, you will have a dynamic role engaging internal functions / team members of the company including the shop, Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Purchasing, Subcontract, Quotation, Sales and Accounting. You will be providing critical support to teammates throughout the project life cycle to ensure exceptional on-time delivery, quality and best overall value for our customers and our company.

Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Master Scheduler is to use our ERP system to schedule and prioritize manufacturing resources in a way that maximizes productivity and quality, provides consistent flow while also meeting on-time delivery commitments to internal and external customers. This includes the following detailed responsibilities:
- Use an ERP system to manage machine schedules and publish updated schedules each week.
- Monitor overall shop load, identify bottlenecks early and take action to prevent delivery issues.
- Monitor and update lead-times and delivery dates in a timely manner in the ERP system. Champion and ensure system accuracy.
- Eliminate waste, non-value added efforts and hidden costs by providing effective and efficient machine and work center schedules.
- Meet on-time delivery needs of both internal and external customers.
- Balance overall workload based on available resources and people ensuring adequate workflow.
- Ensure external suppliers and subcontractors are aligned to support on-time delivery.
- Document and track all changes orders for additional work scope until closed
- Track and monitor quality issues, facilitating activities to ensure timely resolution.
- Forecast and track shipments to achieve monthly targets.
- Publish internal metrics and monitor external metrics and implement documented plans for opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluate existing scheduling and planning systems and processes and work with the Production Control Business Unit Leader to implement improvements that will elevate performance.
- Attend daily production and operations meetings, as a key contributor, inform all stakeholders of challenges and engage the right teammates to rapidly develop a solution in a team environment.
- Use Metalex existing systems and tools to ensure visibility of challenges as they arise on a daily basis.
- Support Quotation efforts to estimate competitive lead times for prospective projects we are bidding on.
- Achieve product profitability goals by completing projects within required time constraints while meeting all quality, cost and delivery targets. Constantly be searching for new and innovative ways to drive down the total cost of manufacturing.

Requirements
- 5+ years of manufacturing scheduling and planning with ERP system experience within a manufacturing job shop, Aerospace or industrial environment.
- Four-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Motivated self-starter with the mindset to develop systems and processes for the improvement of the position and organization.
- Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to enable successful execution of production plans to meet and exceed customer expectations and drive continuous improvement.
- Established record of accomplishing projects on time.
- Highly organized individual who can manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and adapt to on-going changing situations in a fast paced dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information tactfully and effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Superior project management, team building, and leadership skills.
- Advanced computer skills with strong emphasis on MS Office (specifically MS Project and creating macros & visual basic) as well as outlook and internet usage and research abilities.
- Ability to successfully work well within teams and groups.
- Understanding of manufacturing processing methods (milling, turning, grinding, welding, EDM, Assembly, etc) a plus.
