Full Job Description

Overview

Our mid-size machine shop is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Customer Representative. We need a highly organized individual who can manage a diverse portfolio of accounts by maintaining customer job organization, negotiating pricing, ensuring smooth workflow by coordinating with our team, managing communications and delivery timeframes.

Responsibilities

Increase business through generation of new work projects with existing customers
Understand mechanical requirements from customers for problem-solving. Often involving print reading, or mechanical drawing or sketching
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Face-to-face interaction with customers to foster relationships
Obtain material and subcontracting quotes
Utilize accounting software and software tools to set-up paperwork for job
Communicate and coordinate internally to ensure smooth operations
Monitor production flow of customer jobs to meet deadlines
Maintain communication with customers regarding job status as required
Assist with accounts payables and receivables when requested
Assist with collection of balances from customers you support while maintaining positive relationships

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience in an area of machinery, mechanic, machining for minimum (5) years. Design engineering and component/assembly layout experience a major plus. CAD Modeling a major plus, but not required. Ability to interpret drawings is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service and people skills
Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office required. Quickbooks preferred
Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
Ability to multitask and stay focused
Professional appearance and conduct

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk distances of 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile without effort while carrying up to 10 lbs. May be required to do this several times per day.

Licenses and Certification

Valid driver's license required.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
