Our rapidly growing actuarial recruitment team works with all job levels of actuaries and actuarial analysts, catastrophe risk modelers, predictive modelers, as well as executive roles. Our goal is to be the leading actuarial recruitment firm in the world while serving the long-term needs of clients and actuaries. We are looking to add to our Recruitment staff to help support this objective.

Some of our clients include insurance companies, consulting firms, brokerages, insurtechs, startups, and more. We use our strong relationships in the market to align candidates with jobs that match their background, skills, and interests.

We are looking for an Assistant Recruiter who will bring exceptional work ethic, a sense of humor, empathy, strong writing, listening and computer skills, integrity, and a drive to be the best. Your tenacity, instincts, and eventual industry knowledge are what will help the firm continue to be a market leader.

This is an opportunity for an experienced assistant who is ready to turn their strong organizational and relationship-building skills into a long-term career in recruiting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience supporting a busy professional or executive in a fast-paced environment, be highly motivated by financial success, and be excited by the opportunity to build a career in a commission-heavy environment where performance directly impacts earning potential.

You will initially support a Partner with 20+ years of experience in actuarial and analytics recruiting and have the opportunity to learn best practices, create your own professional network, learn the ins and outs of the actuarial profession, and gain strategic knowledge. As the Partner transitions a strong, established book of business, this role offers an exceptional opportunity for a successful Assistant Recruiter to eventually take on significant responsibility and build upon those relationships.

Job Description:

Recruit, pre-screen, schedule interviews, conduct reference checks, and negotiate the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions based on client needs
Gain understanding of candidates’ goals and qualifications and match them with role descriptions and requirements
Maintain candidate database and update company records
Utilize Excel to create and maintain detailed spreadsheets for tracking tasks, deadlines, and project progress, ensuring efficient organization and timely completion of all responsibilities
Market and develop open communication with Hiring Managers, HR contacts, and C-Level executives at major insurers in order to better understand their hiring needs
Schedule regular check-ins with Partner’s clients to maintain strong relationships
Help develop and maintain relationships with candidates and clients as you gain experience and industry knowledge
Provide a breakdown of activity at weekly company meetings, explaining progress and gaining insight into different leads or approaches for the candidate pool
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet, and work within a team to achieve results
Take increasing ownership of recruiting activity and client relationships as you develop within the role, with the long-term opportunity to build and manage a book of business

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience as an assistant supporting a busy professional, executive, or team in a fast-paced environment
Highly motivated by financial success and comfortable working in a commission-heavy environment
Interest in building a long-term career in recruiting, rather than viewing this as a traditional administrative assistant position
Ability to work from Chicago office up to 3 days a week
Strong time management
Exceptional organizational skills
Effective problem solving
Excellent communication skills
Strong writing, listening, and computer skills
Ability to think on your feet and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to relate to all types of personalities and backgrounds with empathy and understanding
