Full Job Description

Job Summary:

A thriving non-profit, charitable counseling center located in the East Bay of San Francisco is in search of a clinical supervisor. Our therapists reflect the diversity of the communities in which we practice and are dedicated to providing mental health services to those that normally cannot afford it. This position has the primary responsibility for providing supervision of both registered associates and graduate student trainee mental health clinicians (AMFT, APCC, ACSW). Approximately, 12 people total. The clinicians will be working with a wide range of clientele, children, couples, adolescents, adult and families. Mental health services include trauma-informed care, developmentally appropriate/sensitive assessments; development of a treatment plan; providing developmentally appropriate mental health treatment; maintaining a written record of treatment, including initial assessments and treatment plans. Supervision responsibilities include: direct oversight of mental health clinicians' work; reviewing clinical notes, assessments, and treatment plans to ensure compliance with requirements; providing guidance and assistance with the treatment of clients; and weekly group supervision (2-3 times per week). Supervision will be conducted online. Individual supervision sessions to be arranged directly with supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Individual and group supervision of registered associate mental health clinicians and graduate student trainees.
Oversight of clinicians' clinical work.
Attend appropriate meetings, which include weekly group supervision and staff meetings.
Follows all procedures and protocols related to the center
Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing duties.
Abide by all provisions of the center’s personnel manual.

Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:

Must be licensed with BBS and eligible to supervise (APCC, AMFT, ACSW)
Excellent clinical and writing skills.
Supervision experience required.
Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populations.
Understanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of trauma and community-based mental health.
Familiarity and experience in working with infants and children in the 0-8 age range.
Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships.
Understanding DSM and the development/writing of treatment plans.
Ability to work independently and to work as a member of a team.
Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills.
Meet BBS requirements for supervision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the supervisor will work remotely.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is part-time, contract based position. Hours of work are flexible but at least two group supervisions (2Hrs each) per week are required. All work is remote.
