About the Opportunity

This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, financial performance, compliance, and resident satisfaction of a multifamily housing community. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to building a welcoming, well-maintained, and successful community.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in residential property management.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing a multifamily community.
Experience handling resident concerns and de-escalating issues effectively.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Working knowledge of LIHTC and Tax Credit housing programs required.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Experience interacting with ownership groups, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and property management software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

Resident Experience & Community Engagement

Deliver an exceptional resident experience throughout the entire tenancy process, from move-in through move-out.
Address resident questions and concerns promptly, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
Coordinate resident engagement initiatives, community events, and retention programs.
Maintain resident records in a secure and confidential manner.
Act as a liaison between residents and management to help resolve concerns efficiently.
Connect residents with local resources and support services when appropriate.

Financial & Operational Management

Monitor property financial performance and occupancy goals.
Manage budgets, forecasting, rent collections, and revenue generation initiatives.
Review financial reports regularly and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Support annual budgeting and strategic planning efforts.
Prepare required reporting and housing program documentation accurately and on time.
Oversee capital improvement projects and coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
Implement strategies to minimize delinquency and maximize collection efforts.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop on-site team members.
Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Manage staffing schedules to ensure operational efficiency.
Foster a positive work environment built on collaboration, accountability, and respect.
Oversee vendor relationships and ensure quality service delivery.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, maintenance concerns, and operational issues.
Maintain community appearance and curb appeal to high standards.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Identify and address potential compliance, liability, and risk-related concerns.
Follow established operational policies and procedures.
Work closely with regional leadership on matters requiring additional guidance or approval.

Work Environment

Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
Combination of office work and community walk-throughs.
Frequent walking throughout the property.
Occasional travel to meetings, training sessions, and regional events.
Ability to inspect various areas of the property, including outdoor spaces and uneven surfaces.
May be required to respond to community emergencies outside of standard business hours.
