Aya Healthcare has an opportunity for an experienced Compensation Analyst to support a 12-week contract with a dynamic medical facility in Portland, OR.
Assignment Details:
- Type: Contract, 12 weeks (Could extend longer depending on department needs)
- Pay: $42.50 - 46/hour
- Schedule: Onsite, Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm
- Onboarding: 1-2 weeks
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities for Compensation Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Two (2) years of Human Resources administration experience.
- Experience with compensation administration-related activities.
- Experience working with union contracts.
- Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.
- Knowledge of and experience with compensation programs and principles, including job classifications, salary surveys, compensation structures, and related practices.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.
- Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage small projects from concept through implementation, including defining project scope, developing project plans, executing deliverables, and completing project closeout activities.
Summary of Compensation Analyst:
The Compensation Analyst provides professional-level support in the development, implementation, cost analysis, and administration of the facility compensation program. Responsibilities include job analysis and design, job classification review, workforce management, systems support and development, and maintenance of compensation tools and documentation. This position works closely with HR Business Partners and Human Resources staff by serving as a compensation resource for the interpretation, application, and administration of internal and external compensation-related policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities of Compensation Analyst:
1. Compensation Consultation, Review & Analysis
- Consults with managers and Human Resources staff to create and/or revise position descriptions. May draft position descriptions as a starting point when needed.
- With support from senior team members, recommends classifications and salary grades for new and revised positions by researching available market data and internal resources to determine appropriate classification and grade assignments.
- Provides guidance and consultation to HR partners regarding pay decisions, including new hire offers, job reclassifications, employee development, internal equity, merit increases, and other compensation considerations. Requires knowledge of salary structures, internal equity, and compa-ratio analysis.
- Provides support to Human Resources and management regarding the interpretation of compensation practices and guidelines.
2. Compensation Administration
- Reviews and processes requests requiring compensation approval or oversight, including new positions, reclassification requests, special pay changes, one-time payments, and HRIS/Compensation audits.
- Serves as a technical resource for compensation policies and guidelines by providing timely consultation to managers and employees regarding internal guidelines, including research rank utilization, AFSCME classifications, collective bargaining language, and external compliance requirements such as BOLI and FLSA.
- Performs compensation-related data entry, including initial position and job creation within HRIS, position number changes, and maintenance of compensation plans and classification specifications on the HR website.
3. Product/Systems Maintenance & Development
- Participates in the ongoing review of compensation processes, policies, and tools, including management of job documentation, job descriptions, databases, job codes, salary grades, and related tables.
- Develops ad hoc reports and data downloads related to compensation activities and analyses.
- Participates in Oracle system improvements and maintenance and serves as the compensation content resource for system applications and related business needs.
4. Compensation Project/Process Support
- Supports and, when appropriate, leads assigned compensation projects and process coordination efforts, including:
- Annual Merit Administration Process.
- Across-the-Board Annual Increases.
- Collective bargaining implementation.
- Salary Structure Adjustments (Classified and Non-Classified).
- NOA creation.
