Full Job Description

Birdie Time Pub, in inner Southeast Portland, OR is searching for a Chef/Cook to join the team. We are an indoor mini golf pub and event space.

What we are looking for:

Kitchen staff looking for part time work with eligibility to move into a full time role for the right fit.
Someone looking to grow in their role and expand their skills.
Someone who enjoys interacting with the general public.
Someone who takes pride in their work and takes initiative.
Someone who can collaborate with team members.

Preferred but not necessary:

Someone who is excited to expand into other areas of the business including our traveling mini golf course, catering, maintenance, and more.

Salary range is represented as minimum wage plus tips. Average employee wage is $34/hr. Increases during holiday season.
***Our entire staff, including kitchen staff, work within an even split tip pool based on hours worked. This includes tips for catering, events and tips on mini golf. This means every person is required to work together to assist in the full function of the space. We work as a team and expect each team member to pull their weight.***

Position Summary: The Cook prepares and serves high-quality food, supports catering, and provides excellent customer service. This role involves cooking in a food cart on the premise of a bar, engaging with guests, assisting with bar operations, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations

Cook menu items to order with consistency in taste and presentation.
Assist with catering food preparation.
Maintain food quality, minimize waste, and uphold sanitation standards.
Food is ordered at the bar.

Catering & Event Support

Prepare and serve food for booked events.
Manage all catering elements, including food prep and set up and break down of food service areas.
Ensure a seamless guest experience by coordinating with bar staff.

Customer Service & Bar Support

Interact with guests professionally.
Assist bartenders during busy times. (Moving kegs, unloading supplies, pouring beer, etc)

Health & Safety Compliance

Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols. Adhere to allergy and dietary restrictions to ensure customer safety.

Qualifications:

Experience as a cook or caterer in a restaurant or event setting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations
Food Safety and OLCC.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, personable, and committed to delivering a great guest experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
