Full Job Description

We have been retained by a well-established and growing manufacturing company in Coosa County, Alabama, to recruit a dynamic Environment, Health & Safety Manager. The role is conveniently commutable from Alexander City and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact at multiple production facilities. This key leadership position is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight of all health, safety, and environmental programs. The Environment, Health & Safety Manager will develop, implement, and continuously strengthen comprehensive workplace safety initiatives that protect team members while supporting efficient, high-volume operations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on safety leader who excels at building a strong, sustainable safety culture across all levels of the organization — from production floor associates to senior executives.

What you will do

· Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Perform routine safety audits and facility inspections to achieve and sustain full adherence to OSHA, EPA, and all applicable Alabama state requirements.

· Risk Identification & Control: Proactively detect and address key hazards common in fixture manufacturing, such as machine guarding on woodworking and metalworking equipment, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and effective ventilation systems in finishing and painting operations.

· Training & Employee Engagement: Create and lead engaging safety training initiatives, including new employee onboarding, forklift operator certification, and regular toolbox talks covering topics like ergonomics and safe material handling.

· Incident Investigation: Direct thorough root-cause analyses for all injuries, accidents, and near-miss events, then implement lasting corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

· Documentation Management: Oversee accurate recordkeeping for OSHA 300 logs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), training records, and equipment maintenance documentation.

· Performance Tracking: Monitor both leading and lagging safety metrics, analyze trends, and establish clear targets for ongoing improvement.

· Safety Committee Oversight: Build and lead active safety committees at multiple sites to encourage employee involvement and drive grassroots safety enhancements.

Who you are

· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive safety leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) designation is strongly preferred.

· In-depth expertise with OSHA 1910 standards, excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and superior written and verbal communication skills.

· Must be willing and able to travel regularly between multiple facilities.

· Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on production floor surfaces.

· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that includes heavy machinery, variable temperatures, dust, and noise.

· Must be willing to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
